I was supposed to go to Virginia this past weekend for a relative's anniversary party. Unfortunately, I was unable to take the days off from work, so i was the only one in the family that couldnt go. While my family was going to VA, they asked my uncle form maryland to come up for the weekend to check on me. haha. im almost 19 yrs old and i still need a babysitter? Their explanation was that incase my car broke down after coming home from work, I'd be able to call him for help. Yeah, that makes sense because we all know how many problems with the car i've encountered, especially at school(oh my) LOL. And then, my boyfriend said that he had to go cater at some wedding in philly, which got me worried for a few reasons. So already I felt like my MDW was going to suck. Well, that Saturday, my family left to VA, uncle left to see my cousins in NY, so i woke up finding an empty house. My bf calls saying tht he ended up not going to philly which got me relieved, but i still had to go to work. I actually got called in a bit earlier for work by an hour and a half, so I left the house. WHile working, my bf called me and asked the name of the mall i worked at, so i told him. From then I had this feeling that he was going to stop by, but I thought he would change his mind. So i was working when i looked out the window, and BAM haha there he was. That was probably the highlight of the day because i was smiling nonstop :). After work, we went home, chilled for a little bit, i dropped him off at the bus stop, he went home. And my uncle came to my house, rented two DVDs, Valkyrie (spelling ?) and Slumdog Millionaire. I took the Slumdog Millionaire disc and watched that only. Okay so next day, i went to bronx. Uncle encouraged me to visit manhattan because its more fun than the bronx(he really disliked the bronx even though thats where he grew up LOL) but i thought to myself, "representing the bronx all day, everyday." haha. My bf wanted us to go to manhattan too just for a bit so we did. We hit up 42nd street, and ohh myy there was a Sanrio store =D I love Hello Kitty but my bf kept making fun of me saying that watch when i get into the store, it would be all little kids LOL. meanie >.< There was this really cute Hello Kitty cover for the steering wheel and my bf said "oh hell no, you are not putting that on your car!" haha i didnt get anyhting but i deiftiely have to go back there when i can. Oh, and i saw these really cute jordans [Dubs Zero? in black/blue] that i want to get later on when im not so broke haha. I definitely had fun when i expected this past weekend to just suck. And of course, i was working on memorial day. blahh hahah.I watched the season premiere of jon and kate+8 and wow, i really do feel bad for kate, hard to say[because she's usually mean]. i had really bad allergies too, but luckily yesterday, it went away. So, here i am, just recapping my past weekend.
***** my reaction to Slumdog Millionaire: It is no wonder that slumdog millionaire won alot of awards and had alot of nominations. It had a really great storyline, but it was really sad. The most sad thing about it was that some of the kids in the movie are actual kids from the slums, which makes you want to feel a bit sympathetic. It's sad to know that there are kids who live like that, especially with the child sex trafficking (that disgusts me the most), but the movie kept it real and exposed life in the slums of a 3rd world country *sighs*. ONe of the scenes had me..interested/curious i guess you can say. hmm im not sure of the word. But there was this one scene where the Muslim neighborhood was being attacked and people were getting killed and it was like a whole massacre, and the little boy, Jamal, and his older brother, Salim, are trying to escape. Out of nowhere, the boy sees like a little boy dressed up as the Hindu God, Rama (i thought it was Krishna at first but apparently its Prince Rama[i just realized he's also known as Preah Ream in Cambodian] because i looked up the movie's plot up on wikipedia and it said so lol). I was a little shocked/confused/interested. At first, i thought there were kids involved in the massacre so they ran around dressing up as Hindu gods, trying to scare the muslim community. But my uncle said that it was all in the boy's imagination, which made more sense to me. Then i thought to myself: isn't this kind of offending towards Hindus? because that scene in the movie just portrayed Hindus in a negative way. And beleive it or not Wikipedia said that the anti-muslim attack scenery was actually controversial because of that one particular scene. The hindu community was kind of outraged, but yeah, that scene was odeeee. The little kid dressed up as Rama really looked like he had a scary grill face[dirty look] too. Yet, at the same time, i think they did that in the scene just to show tht there exists religious intolerance among various religions in India..hmm i dont know but thats just a guess? because why would they even have to have a boy dress up in costume as a Hindu god in a scene like that?..and that scene was actually based on an actual anti-muslim attack in mumbai somewhere in the early 90's. I was also confused at another scene where there was a little boy singing in front of a couple of dudes. Apparently, he wasnt good enough of a singer so he was blinded?? But then, i read on wikipedia that it was some con artist that gathered up little kids to get money for them, and that if the boy was blind, he was able to get more money for him, which made more sense...lol yeah i tend to look things up on wikipedia...i should put the volume up more but i was too lazy to move since apparently my folks dont have a remote for that LOL. Overall, i really loved the movie. =D
okay thats all for now.
Toodles!

IM IN LOVE
Today is my 15 month anniversary with my boyfriend Vina. Its amazing enough that we went past a year already, but after all the things we have been through, I am definitely sure that he is the right one for me. I dont know how to explain it, but he is somebody that I have been needing all my life. He's somewhat different from me but thats what i love about us. THe fact that were different from each other is actually a good thing because we learn from each other. Ive learned alot from him and im prett y sure he has too. I have never cared so much for anyone like I have for him. No matter if we fight, argue or whatever I will always love him. He's seen my good side, my bad side, even my ugly side. And the beauty of that is the fact that he is able to accept it. He loves me even when i feel like im the most ugliest thing ever (like in the morning, no makeup with super crazy hair lol). He loves me so much that I can feel it strongly. I love him just as much. I never will give up on him no matter how much we argue or whatever, when it comes down to it, he'll have my back, just as i will have his. Like I said before, he sees beauty in all my flaws and imperfection. We've been th rough so much and learned so much from each other and I realize that i cant be without him. He still give sme butterflies just like when we first met. I jsut love everything about him from his sexy personality to his big brown eyes and everything in between. I will definitely ride for him. He's truly the one, and Im so glad to have him as a boyfriend. ♥ I love you Bong. 02.17.08. muahh*

first entry
I missed online blogging. I missed having a place of my own to unravel my thoughts;although I can do that on many other websites, its not the same. I considered getitng another xanga but then again, the xanga account I had is there as a record of those four years that i blogged while in high school; therefore, i dont want another account because its not really starting off fresh since i already have an account. haha im so weird :x. Besides, blogger seems a little more sophisticated than a xanga, which in a way can be metaphoric if you know what I mean.
Finally, spring semester is over. My freshman year in college is over. Just like that. I really like the college life. The friends i've made in college so far are great, unique and quite dope and theres more freedom here than in high school. But what i dont like is the difficulty of the classes and the workload. On top of that, it sucks that I didn't get accepted into the major I want to be in, so the first 4 semesters of college will consist of hard work...two semesters down, two to go. Why did i pick such a hard major(Nursing)? It's because this is my dream career, and i dont want to change majors if given the chance; i'm sticking to nursing. I finally found a career that best fits what I've always wanted to be. Somebody who's compassionate, caring, willing to make a big difference in people's lives, kind and working in the medical field. All I want is that RN license and a bachelor's degree than I'm on my way to fulfilling my dream. When it comes to goals and dreams, I am quite simple. While many people dream and have goals of becoming famous, rich and living in luxury, what will make me the happiest person in the world is to meet this goal: graduate college, become a nurse and work, get married to a loving man and have kids. Huge diamond rocks on your fingers, fancy clothes, and expensive cars are nice(I'm not going to lie), but let's be real. Materialistic items mean shit if you dont have love from the people in your lives and in the things you do. How many times have you heard about relationships falling apart because the fame, money and all that got in the way? Hm.....exactly! I can be materialistic like everybody else, but not to a high degree. Materialistic/superficial things come and go, but when it comes down to it, love lasts forever.
So, summer is offically here. I have no idea as to what my plans are except for the following: see more chilling time with family, boyfriend, friends, my brother's middle school grad, a wedding, MAYBE working out(if im not lazy) lol, some writing projects for fun (more poetry, songs, a book in the making[?]), teaching myself how to speak/read/write Khmer (because i need it lol), read on some books that I never had a chance to finish up, get tanned (the natural way...fuck tanning beds and all that fakeness!!!), my 19th birthday, and whatever else. I will not anticipate for this summer to be good, because I did that last summer, and got dissappointed when I realized that it wasnt fun. I'm just going to relax before i head back to a crazy semester in the fall (doubling POSSIBLY on 2 bio classes, taking a math class since senior high school and it had to be STATISTICS fml, developmental psych, west and the world and philosophy only if i dont get into microbio). Yea, i already hate the fall 2009 semester. =/
I guess this is all that ima write. I have no idea on what else to write. Plus, im so full because i ate two bowls of Nom-Bachok for diner haha. until next time, peace out
